WIMEDS Actors

One of the main goals of WIMEDS is to automatically coordinate the cooperation between a variety of actors. These actors range from WHO Officials, through Ministries of Health, to Manufacturers. Depending on their role in WIMEDS, different actors have different responsibilities and they certainly engage differently with the system. Below we explain the main actors and their roles in WIMEDS.

NTD Programme Manager (PM)

The Programme Manager is the Medical Officer who acts as the head of an NTD Programme. His role within the system is to perform the task of Calling for Forecasts, Approving Forecasts' and engaging in the sub-process of Procuring Medical Supplies.

NTD Techical Officer (TO)

The Technical Officer is the person in charge of procuring the medical supplies. Thereof, his interaction with WIMEDS starts when the forecasts are finally approved by all the levels in the approval phase and they need to be procured.

WHO Regional Office (RO)

The Regional Officer is the person in charge of approving the forecasts or emails when they reach the Regional Office level. Therefore, his interaction with the system is required when the flow of approval phases reaches the Regional Office.

WHO Country Office (CO)

The Country Officer is the person in charge of approving the forecasts or emails when they reach the Country Office level. Therefore, his interaction with the system is required when the flow of approval phases reaches the Country Office.

Ministry of Health (MoH)

The Ministry of Health is the person in charge of submitting the forecasts and the related documents. From there on this actor is a contact point for a given forecast. Therefore, along the process this actor receives notification emails, reminder emails and action emails.
