WIMEDS consists of three main components shown in a high level view in the figure below:
- Forecasting Medical Supplies - Different Countries need to perform a forecast of their needs wrt medical supplies for a given NTD. This process is performed in a periodic fashion and requires the interaction of different actors. WIMEDS allows Countries to request their forecasted medical supplies through a web application that is based on a Business Process Management System (i.e., Bonitasoft).
- Requesting Medical Supplies - When unexpected cases of people infected by NTDs appear, this web application can be used for Health Facilities to request medical supplies in an ad-hoc manner.
- Stock Management - This is the web system to be used for the management of the stocks wrt medical supplies of NTDs.
Timeline of Deployment
The component of Requesting is already developed and put in production. The other component of Forecasting has been developed and it is planned to be put in production by April 2020. Finally, the Stock Management component is expected to be put in production by the end of 2020.
